About the Event
Hailing from Tanjung Malim, Master Chef Lok Kok Wah (Chef Lu Guohua) has over 46 years of traditional South China culinary experiences, where he crafts creative signature Cantonese dishes alongside his Heritage Cooking, using hometown secret family recipes that are complex and rich in both flavor and history, passed down from his father's generation to his generation.Â
Since its opening in 1975, Wun Nam Restaurant [Yunnan Cantonese Cuisine Workshop in Chinese language] has been the 1st choice of Cantonese cuisine for customers who knows of this hidden jewel which relocated from Tanjung Malim to PJ/Damansara Perdana after its original owner retired -- the time when Master Chef Lok, the eldest of 5 sons, took over and became the Head Chef and Owner of the now, Wun Nam.Â
Master Chef Lok, dubbed as the "God of Cookery", has overseas experience as chef and even won the runner-up Silver medal award in the Shanghai World Chef Championship / Top China Shanghai Master Chef Competition in 2012 for his outstanding and exquisite Chinese culinary skills and experience.Â
He is famous for his signature lard dreg, the most fragrant food in the world, which are freshly fried and evenly cooked with fragrant rice, mixed with eggs and homemade soy sauce. According to Master Chef Lok, the moment the lard residue is bitten down, it has to be fragrant, crispy and super-delicious to your palate; food characteristics which only great chefs are able to accomplish undoubtly.
On this very special evening, Master Chef Lok will present some of his signature Cantonese dishes such as the lard dregs rice which is historically known as the most coveted dish at dinner!
